Midnight Smashers' seen ripping ATMs out of small businesses in brazen crime spree on video

A shadowy group of thieves has been ripping off small business owners in New York City.

A group called the "Midnight Smashers" has been stealing ATMs from small businesses across New York City, with at least 49 incidents reported between September and December 2024. The thieves use stolen vehicles or carry the ATMs by hand, often under the cover of night. Surveillance videos show the suspects dragging the machines out of convenience stores.

In response, the United Bodegas of America (UBA) has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. They are also calling for more support and security for small businesses. The NYPD is investigating, but the suspects remain at large.

A terrifying home invasion occurred in Caldwell, Essex County, New Jersey, where a group of burglars broke into a home early Sunday morning, around 5:30 a.m. The suspects, possibly four individuals, were after the key fob for a high-end vehicle parked in the driveway. They attempted to break into the house through a side door, then tried the front before using a crowbar to break in through a window. The homeowners, who were inside, were woken by the noise and confronted one of the suspects, causing them to flee. Police were called to the scene, and another home in the same neighborhood was also targeted shortly after. The burglars were masked and gloved, making identification difficult. Authorities are warning residents to secure their homes.
